Serving with ACMNP

For more than six decades, ACMNP has helped people come to know God in national parks across the country, some of God's most beautiful creations.

Students like you are at the core of the ACMNP experience… a great adventure that is best described in three words: worship, witness, and leadership.

As an ACMNP ministry team member, you and your teammates will prepare and lead interdenominational worship services every Sunday (sermons, prayers, readings, and music) in park campgrounds and amphitheaters.

Your informal ministry — on the job and after work — will be more relational. Whether at work, talking with campground visitors, or exploring the park's wilderness, you’ll have many chances to bear witness to God’s love for creation and for all people.

Though visitors, community members, and park employees are drawn to the national parks for different reasons, many of them share the same goal — to escape from something in their lives by escaping to nature. ACMNP responds to this essential desire by placing Christians like you in parks across America to offer the hope, love, and fellowship of Jesus Christ as an extension of the church. Team members also bear witness to God’s love for the natural world, as stewards of creation in the midst of so much natural beauty.

When your application is accepted by ACMNP, you’ll be recommended to park hospitality companies (called concessionaires) for seasonal employment.

We can’t guarantee employment, but we work hard to be sure every team member has secured employment before summer begins. If for some reason, the employer chooses not to hire, we may opt to try and relocate you into a different park location. In the past most of our ministry team members have found work as wait staff, bellhops, desk clerks, housekeepers, or in other similar jobs. Once hired, you’ll be eligible for room and board at a minimal cost...and, earn a paycheck!

Serving with ACMNP is an excellent way to expand your worship experience, find your place in the global church community, and strengthen your relationship with God, all while helping others do the same.

Most importantly, serving will give you the leadership skills you’ll need to build up the future church for generations to come. God doesn’t call the equipped, He equips the called.

But serving does require a commitment — if you can’t stay with us for a full summer or winter, this isn’t the opportunity for you.

"It was especially neat to begin developing an eye for analogies and concrete images in creation, tying observations in with our relationship with God and seeing that there are, in effect, ...parables' all around us of God's care and the gospel."
– Jonathan, Calvin Theological Seminary 2011
